I had been an avid drinker of tea for many years. I used to have at least 3 to 4 cups a day in the past.
Two months back I had joined the happiness meditation course of Sri Sri. In the course they had asked us to refrain from drinking tea for the three days of meditation. Post this course and after refraining from tea for the three days, I felt quite refreshed and blissful. This made me think was it the meditation or change in habit of drinking tea that had brought this change.
I decided to refrain from having tea in the future as well and see the results. Initially it felt as if something important was missing from life. As time passed, I got used to it. This also made me think why various spiritual and allied organizations ask us to avoid tea and coffee.
I did some reading and research for the reason. I found a few videos from famous proponent of natural healing and Ayurveda, Dr Rajiv Dixit. His language might be a bit rustic with a bit of nationalistic tone yet the message is very clear and true. There is a reason he has so many followers across all sections of the society.
