It is used as medicine and also in a preparatory procedure called snehakarma for the treatment of Speech delay, speaking difficulties, low intelligence and low digestion power in children.
It is also given as a general health tonic for children to improve speaking ability, memory power, and intelligence.

Saraswata Ghrita dosage:
As medicine – quarter to half teaspoon with water, usually before food, once or twice a day, or as directed by Ayurvedic doctor.
For Panchakarma preparation – Snehana procedure, the dose depends on the disease status and the judgment of Ayurvedic doctor.
Saraswatha Ghritha. Ingredients:
Goat milk – 3.072 liters
24 grams of each of
Trikatu – Pepper, long pepper and ginger
Patha – Cissampelos pareira
Ugra – Acorus calamus
and Shigru – Drum stick – Moringa oleifera
water – 3.072 liters
Ghee – 768 grams
The above combination is heated until herbal ghee is prepared.
