Prostatic enlargement is generally a disease of elderly men. The prostate gland surrounds the neck of bladder and first part of urethra goes through it. Enlarged prostate presses on the urethra and decreases the size of opening through it or it forms a dam which holds back part of the urine.
At first the patient has to get up oftener than usual to void urine at night. Stream are going to be small and slow to start out . A long time could also be required to empty the bladder. There are chances of bladder infection and cystitis.
